Welcome To Château Picard

Featuring the return of actor Patrick Stewart as the eponymous character, Star Trek: Picard — a spin-off set in the wider Star Trek universe — first aired in 2020 on the streaming platform CBS All Access (which was later renamed Paramount+). The show picks up years after the events of Star Trek: Nemesis (2002) and Star Trek (2009), focusing on a retired Jean-Luc Picard as he attempts to reconcile with the deaths of Lieutenant Commander Data and the total obliteration of the planet Romulus.

Prior to his retirement, he was a member of Starfleet, an organization created by the Federation Of Planets to expand their knowledge of deep space and defend against threats. However, 14 years have passed since he transitioned to a simpler life, and his self-titled series places him in the role of a vineyard owner. Despite Picard’s desire for tranquillity, this peace and quiet soon evaporates when an enigmatic young woman arrives on his doorstep: Dahj Asha (Isa Briones). She is revealed to be an android made with the leftover neural code of Data and is assassinated shortly thereafter, the motive unknown. To uncover the mystery behind her death, Picard begins his investigation.
